Doug the Undertaker?

I've largely ignored the "Joe the Plumber" nonsense that John McCain talks endlessly about. But today John McCain took this example of the ordinary working stiff faced with the dire prospects of a tax increase he'll never see too far.

Today, McCain introduced, I kid you not, "Doug The Undertaker" at a campaign rally.  Of all the made up phony analogies McCain could have manufactured and he thinks linking his campaign with an undertaker is a good idea?

Judgment.  The man's got no judgment.

Speech Code Needed in America?

Palin to propose a speech code in response to threatening conduct by the Media?  Maybe. Palin may need implement such a Code in order to ban media reports that she is engaged in “Negative Campaigning.”  

The first step to could be taken from George Bush’s play book when that cast of clowns redefined the word “torture.” In Sarah’s world the term “Negative Campaigning” would be replaced with “Just and Righteous Critical Qualification.” Viola, QED.

THREATDOWN - Halloween Edition

First the Bad News:

Footprints from the legendary Yeti have been found in the snow-covered slopes of the Himalayas, a Japanese team of explorers claimed today. 'We have no doubt about what we have found. This makes us certain that the Yeti exists. As well as the footprints, the stories the locals tell makes us sure that this being is not imaginary.' 

Despite spending 42 days on Dhaulagiri IV - a 25,135ft peak where Mr Takahashi says he has seen the shadowy figure in the past - the seven- man team has failed in their prime objective of capturing a Yeti on film.

Now the less bad News for wingnuts:

Mr Takahashi also claims to have seen a Yeti when he went to the Himalayas in 2003. On that expedition he was 200 yards away from the apparition but remains convinced he was not mistaken.

'It was in silhouette,' he said. 'It was walking on two legs like a human and looked about 150 centimeters (5ft) tall.' Now, finding strange footprints in the snow on his most recent expedition, has left Mr Takahashi convinced that the Yeti is still wandering among the towering Himalayan peaks.

It is only 5 foot tall.  This is far less scary than the 10 foot tall half ape half man creature that is thought known to roam other parts of the dark places of the map including beef jerky commercials.

Former US Air Force fighter pilot Milton Torres is convinced he had an encounter with an alien spaceship in the skies over England in the 1950s.

He was told to intercept a UFO with "very unusual flight patterns" over East Anglia that ground radar operators had been tracking for some time.

Top Secret Wingnut Strategery Revealed!

On today’s edition of Things Learned from the AM Radio, we learn of a super secret wingnut plan to regain power.  Apparently, with Obama doing well in the polls, McCain and the Republican brand tanking, prominent Republicans Defecting and the election in 4 days, it is the media that is to blame.  Yep, it’s the media.  It couldn’t be historical voting patterns of electing the opposition party after 8 years. It couldn’t be the incompetence, the avarice, the arrogance.  It could be the tanking economy, the debt and deficit, the Iraq War, the WMD that didn’t exist or the fact that McCain and the Republicans rubber stamped every bad decision that George Bush made.  Nope.  None of the above. The reason Obama is doing well is because of an elaborate media conspiracy.

What’s a wingnut to do? Despair? Some self reflection? A Boycott ?!?!?!?  -  Nope.  

The call has gone out for the Wingnuts of the World to unite, To Rise Up and TO BUY THE MEDIA!

That’s right, the secret is out if enough wingnuts can collectively pool their wealth and buy the NY Times, Viacom, The USA Today, Disney, the Yakima Herald-Republic, the Las Cruces Sun-News, the Bumbleberry Times and the Podunk Daily Review they can defend their narrative.  You see the only thing wrong, is that all the media outlets are not Fox-ified.  Wingnuts can correct this by buying up the stock of all media corporations and putting fellow wingnuts in the Board Rooms!

You see it is that simple. It is the Media, whether it be the Coastal Elitists that staff the national media outlets or the guy next door that works at the local Yellow Liberal Rag with his wife, 2.2 kids, fancy 401k plan and Blue Cross Family Health plan. These people are the reason for the impending doom.  And these are the people who must be PURGED once the Wingnuts control the Board Rooms!

Spanish Aggression Rolled Back - People Rejoice – McCain VINDICATED ! ! !

My Friends and Comrades, John McCain has scored an initial Victory in his feud against Spanish Aggression.  

As we know, John McCain put Spain “On Notice” for whatever it did, by refusing to meet with foriegn leaders that are not "with us" such as Spanish President Zapatero.  Thus Spain was added to the Enemies List and an alliance with France to join a league of Democracies was extended by John McCain as part of a Spanish Containment Strategy.

Well my Friends, I am pleased to announce that Spain has folded under pressure to the will of John McCain and we see - 

The Headline of the Day: Spain returns looted Peruvian artifacts.

My Friends, these are the type of Victories you can expect to see in a McCain administration, where refusing to talk to adversaries, real or imagined, is sign of Strength and its own virtue.  It is only from a Position of Strength, and after being put “On Notice” did Spain relent and offer this gesture of good will.

Is Spain off the John McCain Enemies List, now?  Not on their lives, my friends. Not on their lives.  Spain is still “On Notice” for whatever it did to anger McCain (such as sponsoring a terrorist attack against The Maine).  But this is a positive step forward and it is a sign of the Awesome foreign policy successes sure to come in a McCain / Palin Administration.

Holy Wingnuttery ! ! !

We are used to Krazy stuff coming from K-Lo and her fellow travelers at Das Korner.  Usually the wingnuts that call the Corner their home are calling for a preemptive attack on Iran or equating any diplomacy with appeasement, waving the white flag of surrender, defeat, and the impending destruction of America or numerous other acts stupidity.  

Today, one of the lead wingnuts, Rich Lowry advocates negotiating a SURRENDER to the TALIBAN!!!!!

It can't be! The NRO aligned with the terrorists. Don't they love America anymore? How can they even stomach the notion of talking with our enemies?  I thought we were at war with the Terrorists. Maybe Rich believes that they Terrorist can be redeemed.....maybe through counseling. The mind reels at his change of allegiance. 

But then Rich Lowry redeems himself by noting that John McCain has Obama where he wants him and that A McCain VICTORY IS AROUND THE CORNER!  Keep hope alive, Rich. Keep hope alive.

Famous Socialists

Now with Joh McCain lobbing charges of socialism around over Obama's middle class tax cuts, how about we list some famous people who have supported progressive Taxation.

First off is John McCain hero and his role model, Teddy Roosevelt, who believed in the graduated income tax. As a matter of fact Teddy Roosevelt was quite clear about his support for progressive taxation.

We have not the slightest sympathy with that socialistic idea which would try to put laziness, thriftlessness and inefficiency on a par with industry, thrift and efficiency; which would strive to break up not merely private property, but what is far more important, the home, the chief prop upon which our whole civilization stands. Such a theory, if ever adopted, would mean the ruin of the entire country--a ruin which would bear heaviest upon the weakest, upon those least able to shift for themselves. But proposals for legislation such as this herein advocated are directly opposed to this class of socialistic theories. Our aim is to recognize what Lincoln pointed out: The fact that there are some respects in which men are obviously not equal; but also to insist that there should be an equality of self-respect and of mutual respect, an equality of rights before the law, and at least an approximate equality in the conditions under which each man obtains the chance to show the stuff that is in him when compared to his fellows.

 And next we have John McCain Soul Mate, Sarah Palin.  The Governor of Alaska recently said:

And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.” And she said, “Our state constitution—it lays it out for me, how I’m to conduct business with resource development here as the state C.E.O. It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans.”

Alaska is sometimes described as America’s socialist state, because of its collective ownership of resources—an arrangement that allows permanent residents to collect a dividend on the state’s oil royalties.

What is all too clear now is that John McCain must add Teddy Roosevelt, Sarah Palin and himself to his enemies list. Because if Obama's plan to raise marginal rates from 35% to 39% on earned income over $250K while reducing tax rates on those earning less than $200K constitutes socialism, McCain must repudiate his role model, his self described soul mate Sarah, and 90 odd years of American History. 

And John must repudiate himself for either being too stupid for not knowing the difference or for being shameless in his utter lack of respect for the voters by spouting so much BS.

So much for straight talk.

At a time when you are either with the President or with the Terrorists, today we add another name to the List. The Anchorage Daily News , the paper of record in Alaska, a charter member of the Palin Yellow Liberal Rag Club and a dangerous member of Coastal Liberal Elite should hereby be added to the List.  What did this so-called media outlet do?  Let the ADN tell you:

This, my Friends, is not Socialism.  Nationalizing the  ownership of homes is merely crisis management, my Comrades. 

It is also not Socialism to Nationalize the BANKS, Wall$treet and the Insurance Industry.  These are necessary measures for the furtherance of the Investors and Creditors' Paradise.

Willy Kristol's latest deadline filler full of drivel as usual

Xcept the crowd ain't ignorant if Kristol thinks he can pull the strings. And Kristol's part in the Palin pick must be redeemed against conservative Elite (like Noonan, Buckley, Brooks, et. al) that have come out against the Governor of Alaska. Thuis the wisdom of The Base and their affection for Palin, paramount, while the opinion of the elite to be scorned.
