Offering up the same old excuse that has been offered after so many disasters that occurred on his watch. This time it is the Financial Meltdown.
Previously, the "I don't think anybody saw it coming" line has been used for 9/11, the insurgency following the preventive war in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, the re-emergence of the Taliban, Abu Graib, and on and on.
As a matter of fact, the "I don't think anybody saw it coming" line is a perfect post-mortem for the Bush Administration.
