Wild and Crazy Guys - TN State GOP to Push Obama Birth Certificate Claims

Wouldn't you know that as much as the Tennessee State Republican Party has been in the news, that these Playas still had another one up their sleeves?

After all these are the guys that gave us the attack ad against Michelle Obama and then who can forget the official Banishment of GOP Assembly Speaker Kent Williams from the Republican Party.

Well they're baaaack and this time to Push the Phony Obama Birth Certificate Canard:

Several Tennessee lawmakers have signed onto a legal action intended to force President Barack Obama to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship, an effort already rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in another case.

Tennessee Reps. Eric Swafford, Stacey Campfield, Glen Casada and Frank Nicely have all agreed to be plaintiffs in future legal action from a Russian immigrant in California who has challenged whether Obama meets constitutional criteria to be president

Campfield is known as one of the zanier wingnuts around.  So chasing his tail on the discredited Obama Birth Certificate Comes as no Surprise.  If there is one wingnut to lead this charge, eh;s definitely got the street cred to do it.

Earning this type of street cred ain't easy.  But he's earned it one screw up at a time.  Whether it was trying to force his way into the Black Caucus, Sponsoring a Bill requiring a Death Certificate for fetuses after abortion, renting a room to a convicted sex offender or fighting charges alleging that he is a slumlord, Campfield's street cred as a Wingnut Level Hardcore is well deserved. Most Recently the Pride of the GOP made the News when:

one of Campfield’s rental houses had been written up for 47 code violations, including a “basement flooded with water and feces” and “bootleg wiring.” Campfield, his tenants allege, has also been pumping the wastewater flooding the basement out onto public sidewalks and into a storm drain.

So Campfield is just the man to serve as the GOP's point man on this phony crusade.

He's Probably got the hang of it by now. So give'em another chance. And with the Supreme Court and the good Lord on his side, why not give it a try. Write in Bush.
