It is a depiction of Future events that could occur should the prophesies of Senate Candidate Joe Miller (R-AK) come true.
When we last left Alaskan President Joe Miller, he had learned about what Foxnews was calling a “Red Revolution” in the former Kingdom of Hawaii which foiled his plan to a contract with the Kingdom of Hawaii’s Royal Navy to open up Trade Routes to the Oil Market of the East.

Chapter 5
Alaskan President Joe Miller held the receiver of his old fashioned analog phone. The world felt right when he felt the weight of this phone in his hand. It felt like the good old days - rotary dial and all. He didn’t mind using this old fashioned phone one bit. As a matter of fact he preferred it now. He started using the old fashioned phone when the State of Alaska’s Computer Network crashed rendering his voice over IP phone useless. The crash was due to what the egg heads in the technology department called a “burrower” or a new type of virus. Computer viruses, like these burrowers were running rampant in Alaska infecting not just the Alaskan State Government’s computer system in those days but also the computer systems of the Great Free Market Enterprises in Alaska including members of the Alaskan Energy Cartel. It was a disaster.
With the Trade embargo with Pacifica in place (excepting only the oil for food program), this presented a problem as the damn commies as President Miller referred to them, maintained a virtual monopoly on the new generation of software needed to defend against designer Viruses like Burrowers. Though she denied it blaming the problem on Siberian Pirates, it was rumored that Pacifican President O’Halloran ran sweatshops in suburbs of Seattle night and day employing her poor software proletariat in the production of both viruses and the virus protection software needed to combat those same viruses. Grudgingly, President Miller had begun to respect the communist leader’s business savvy.
President Miller had solved the problem quite ingeniously he thought, or so said his trusted aid Norton Grovequist. Using his power, as Alaska’s Commander in Chief in a State Emergency, President Miller signed an executive order requiring all Internet Service Providers to install Burrower Buster Software and provide the same services to the computer networks of their customers. With access to Seattle shut down due to the embargo, most Alaskan ISP’s were able to obtain the necessary software through intermediaries located in foreign countries like the Koreas, Nigeria or the mafia controlled city state of New Vegas.
Some could say and did say that this executive order amounted to State directed capitalism, but in an emergency most folks in Alaska didn’t seem to mind the heavy hand of the government directing the market. Impeachment talk died down almost overnight as the much needed software opened the internet back up to Alaska’s Sovereign Citizens.
And after signing a Treaty with Japan and the Koreas, the Oil Trade was back in business. President Miller handled that one coolly the Newspapers reported. People still referred to them as newspapers even though paper hadn’t been used in years. It was the same way with the terms “Associated Press” and the “Wire Service.” It didn’t matter that printing presses could only be found in museums these days and that telegraphs no longer existed. Things had moved on. Anyway, the Newspapers, triumphed the new Treaty as it enabled Members of the Alaskan Energy Cartel to sell Oil to the Japanese Government F.O.B. Alaska. This meant that ownership and risk of transport transferred to the Japanese Government upon sale while the Oil was still in Alaska.
This clever move brought protection from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force which could and did sink Siberian Pirates at will every time a Japanese shipment was threatened. This way the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force would only be acting in self-defense and in compliance with the Japanese Constitution. It was Brilliant the newspapers proclaimed. And naturally, after the Executive Order and the Treaty, President Miller’s approval rating had soared to new heights.
While things looked bright in Alaska, not all was well in President Miller’s neck of the woods. There were still border tensions with Canada, but so far the Canadians remained peaceful and disturbingly so. If they didn’t have to act so pleasant and polite over the fact that they sealed the Border, Miller thought. And then there was the aggressive expansionist Commie Regime in Seattle. According to Foxnews, Pacifica had gobbled up to new provinces in the last month. According to Fox the Soviet of Alto California Del Norte and the Soviet of Yerba Buena, as it referred to them had joined Pacifica after so-called Red Revolutions. Dammit he hated to see San Francisco Bay become officially RED but it was always one step away from godless heathen communism - might as well make it official, President Miller thought.
If Pacifica was a constant aggravation, a new concern that President Miller didn’t need was unrest in the Potato Protectorate of Idaho. Ever since the early days of the “Constitutional Model,” that being Joe Miller’s plan for the Withering away of the State (i.e., the Federal government) in conjunction by the Supremacy of State Sovereignty, Joe Miller had maintained warm relations with Idaho. He supposed that this was due to the fact that Idaho was run by a Former Tea Party strongman who Joe knew back to the salad days of the Tea Party. And those who had been in the Tea Party back in the day had to stick together.
The strongman running the show in Idaho was Commandant Lenard Beckworth or “Beck” as President Miller referred to him. Beck had been the savior of Idaho. After California collapsed into to chaos after the great financial crisis just as President Miller had been predicting since 2010, the States were forced into implementing the Constitutional Model. This plan was the brainchild of Joe Miller. It called for all Federal Property and Authority to revert to the individual States. Relying on the Constitutional Model and using his Tea Party connections to control the recently created State Militia’s, Beck was able to seal the borders and restore order and the rule of Law in Idaho.
Under Commandant Beckworth, Idaho survived the initial chaos that many of the western States of in the union formerly known as the United States had not. California was a wasteland and it was quickly followed into collapse by Arizona. Nevada ceased to exist except for what essentially many hope would become a Penal Colony in New Vegas. Vice and the free market ruled the day in New Vegas. If someone would just build a wall around that city and post guards the saying went. However there was no market incentive to do this so Vice flourished unchecked.
New Mexico had disintegrated with the Republic of Texas reclaiming much of the land it lost in the Compromise of 1850. Wyoming and Colorado no longer existed as a Sovereign States but rather as a contingent of City-States, with Denver under United Nations control. It was just as Tea Party Member and Visionary Dan Maes had predicted also way back in 2010. After Denver joined the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, an international association that promotes sustainable development such as bicycle sharing, it was only a matter of time before the Blue Helmets established a foothold in what used to be the USA. Apart from the State of Deseret in what used to be called Utah, Idaho alone remained a functioning Sovereign State in the American West. That is Idaho and Deseret were it other than those damned commies in Pacifica, President Miller thought to himself.
Back in the early days the Great Protectorate of Idaho flourished as it coined its own currency based upon bimetallism with free silver coined at a ratio of 160:1, due to recent rich Silver Strike in the Idaho panhandle. Idahoans of all stripes looked to a bright future based on the wonders of the Free Market Almighty, Free Silver, bumper Potato crops and Nuclear Technology Export thanks to the State's take over of the Idaho National Laboratory's from the Federal government as part of President Miller's visionary "Constitutional Model" which turns federal lands over to their rightful owners, the Sovereign States.
Yes in the early days, the future looked bright in the Potato Protectorate. So who could have guessed the trouble that would spring from Commandant Len Beckworth’s decision to implement a biblical based constitution? Heck, if it was good enough for the Founding Fathers in the 18th century, why not give it a try in the 21st Century, Miller thought. And up until the great potato famine, it appeared the Great Potato Protectorate of Idaho would survive the devastation that reigned throughout much of the former American West.
However it appeared that all was beginning to unravel. And this worried President Miller greatly…………………..
