Democrats would have had fewer losses on election Tuesday if President Obama had embraced a "Christ-like model of leadership," says Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition. Reed, who used to run Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition, says a good leader is one who provides not just the "bread, but also the bread of life" for his constituents.
Or in Ralph’s case it’d be not just the “bread of life” but bread as in pocketing millions in loot to turn out the faithful to vote for the benefit Jack Abramoff’s Clients. But that’s all so yesterday; I am sure Ralph has asked for forgiveness.
I wonder if Ralph has any pointers for Obama as to be more Christ-Like:
"Even if you bring the capital-gains tax down to zero," create more jobs, and turn the economy around, he argues, Obama still needs to give an "eternal" set of values, such as opposing abortion and same-sex marriage.
Cut taxes, bash gay folks and ban abortion. I am not sure where in the Bible Jesus condemns the “Capital-gains tax,” but it is probably at the back of the book somewhere and I have just missed it. There are lots of pages in the Bible, after all, and I can’t be the only person who missed this passage. But Righteous Ralph has another suggestion:
So who would be a Christ-like GOP challenger to Obama in 2012? Reed says his friend, Sarah Palin.
What else can you say?
