According to Jim DeMint, GOP chairman Michael Steel is to blame for the GOP’s setback in the Senate. If Steele had been more competent in running the GOTV effort things would have turned out differently, so his story goes.
“I appreciate Michael Steele’s service.” But he added the party’s get-out-the-vote effort lagged under Steele, asserting “where we lost a few Senate seats, our ground game was not as strong as it could have been. We were actually out manned on the ground.”
Well there is much to the Steele as incompetent story line, true. I guess the real blame doesn’t go with those who pimped up Ken Buck, Joe Miller, Sharron Angle and Sweet Christine O’Donnell. Perhaps, DeMint is right and there are establishment folks stabbing Teaists Candidates in the back whenever they get the chance.
