Debt Ceiling Kamikazes

Quote of the Day:

"Call them Debt Ceiling Deniers. Believers in faith-based fiscal policy. Math-challenged cause-and-effect-skeptics. And an uncomfortable chunk of the GOP's 2012 contenders."

~ John Avlon

The Tea Bagging Base of the GOP has been fed so much bullshit by living in the Foxnews cocoon that these congressmen are willing to burn down the economy as part of some ideological experiment. Crazy, I know.

If the GOP was a fully functioning political party it would not let its constituents become so deluded. One of the primary responsibilities of a political party is to inform its members so that they can understand how the party addresses complex issues. The average teabagger is not going to be able to understand international finance on his own. He won’t be able to understand how the healthcare system works in America or about climate science or energy policy. The average teabagger needs help to understand these complicated issues and how he fits in with any political response.

However time and time again, the GOP fails its members in this regard. It remains silent or spreads disinformation on global warming. It convinces it members that there is some magical market based solution to health insurance reform that will serve the public interest when there is none. It tells its member that tax cuts actually raise revenue. It has convinced its members that torture is an acceptable practice. Time and time again, it has failed its members.

Now it is unable to inform its members of dangers of defaulting on the good faith and credit of the United States of America. The good faith and credit of the USA has been built by the blood, sweat, toil and tears of generations of Americans. It doesn’t just belong to this generation of teabaggers. Yet these assholes are ready to throw it away as part of a social experiment - to a large extent because the GOP is unable to serve its constituents.

It is time to shut down the GOP. It does not work anymore. It is broken and needs to be sent into involuntary receivership.

He's Probably got the hang of it by now. So give'em another chance. And with the Supreme Court and the good Lord on his side, why not give it a try. Write in Bush.
