In an interview with ABC News, O'Donnell, the Tea Party candidate, said that she empathized with Romney has, in O'Donnell's words, been experiencing "nastiness" from Tea Partiers.
"I find the tone and nastiness of some of the things circulating around the internet about Romney extremely offensive," O'Donnell said according to ABC News.
O'Donnell said it was important that Republicans focus on Obama rather than each other.
"It’s politics of personal destruction aimed at our own and it’s got to stop,” O'Donnell said. “Right now a lawn gnome could beat Obama in 2012, so, yes, we can be picky, but not nasty or malicious. If we don’t stop the Republican cannibalism we’re simply turning this election over to the Democrats, who certainly don’t deserve it."
ABC reports that O'Donnell has donated $250 to Romney's campaign and plans to give more if Romney wins the nomination.
Maybe the O'Donnell magic will rub off on Willard.
